How Do You As A Chiropractor Treat Pain?
Chiropractors use "adjustments" or "manipulations" on the vertebrae that have shifted out of alignment. They use their hands to apply a controlled, sudden force to the joints that restores spinal movement. The result is a decrease in pain and improved mobility.
In Addition To Hands-On Adjustments, We Also Utilize Other Drug Free Pain Relief Techniques.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation: an electric current is used to tone muscles, stimulate healing, and ease pain.
Transcutaneous Electrical Stimulation (TENS): an electronic device sends a tiny electrical current through electrodes taped to the skin to nerves at the site of pain. It stops pain messages from being transmitted to the brain.
Ultrasound: high frequency sound waves generate heat below the skin's surface breaking up tissue deposits.
Heat Therapy: hot packs provide moist heat that increases blood flow to damaged tissues and eases pain.
Cryotherapy: cold packs ease pain by restricting blood flow and reducing inflammation in muscles and joints.
Massage: kneading and rubbing muscles stimulates blood flow, relieves tension, and improves function.
Acupuncture: a centuries-old pain relief technique from China that uses tiny needles that are inserted into specific areas of the body. Non-painful sensations created by the needles block pain messages from reaching the brain.

How Long Does It Take Before I Feel Better?
Everybody responds differently to the chiropractic treatments they receive. Some people respond quickly and feel better in a matter of days, but others may require extended care over a period of several weeks. Many factors need to be considered in determining how quickly you respond including age, prior medical history, type of injury sustained, and occupation just to name a few. Although it would be great to correct a problem with one treatment, in reality you will need to receive a series of chiropractic treatments along with other ancillary therapies such as physical therapy, home exercises, and lifestyle changes as the chiropractor deems necessary for your individual case. Keep in mind, there is a difference between feeling better and being better. You will feel better in a short period of time, but being better requires time and the committment to getting the care you need.
Is Chiropractic Care Expensive?
Chiropractic care is inexpensive in comparison to other forms of care a patient may receive for similar health related problems. Medical care becomes expensive as a result of performing diagnostic testing such as MRIs, CT scans, blood and urine tests, etc. as well as from the dispensing to medications. In the case where surgery is involved, the costs for medical care may become exorbinant and may become difficult for many people to manage. Chiropractors do not perform any diagnostic testing other than the occasional plain film x-ray and they do not prescribe medications that patients need to take. As a result, chiropractic is one of the most affordable types of care available to the general public.
Can I Still Get Chiropractic Care Even Though I Have No Insurance?
Whether or not you have insurance coverage should never be the basis for which you are considered for acceptance as a patient. Fewer and fewer people have health insurance these days. Some people simply are not able to afford insurance and others opt to not have insurance due to their increasing limitations on the policy holders. There are affordable payment plans made available for those people with no insurance. In some cases, there may be no chiropractic coverage in your policy or the limitations, such as deductible, co-pay, dollar limit, or visit limit, placed on your policy by the insurance company may be such that it is disadvantageous for you to file claims through your insurance. Always check to verify what your chiropractic benefits are. Most likely, your benefits change from year to year, often times without your knowledge of the change.
